Minor Protection Policy

Purpose of This Policy

The Minor Protection Policy (“Policy”) establishes mandatory safety standards for all interactions involving users under the age of 18 (“minors”). Its purpose is to protect minors, support coaches, and reduce liability for the COACHD App, LLC / COACH’D. This Policy works alongside the Parental/Guardian Agreement, User Code of Conduct, and Coach Agreement.

Definition of a Minor

A minor is any individual under the age of 18. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for ensuring compliance with this Policy.

Mandatory Parent/Guardian Presence

To ensure safety and eliminate liability:
• A parent or legal guardian must be physically present for the entire duration of every in-person training session involving a minor.
• The parent/guardian must remain within visible and audible range of the session at all times.
• Coaches are prohibited from conducting one-on-one sessions with minors without a parent/guardian present.
If a parent/guardian is not present, the coach must cancel the session immediately.

Coach Conduct Requirements

Coaches working with minors must:
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times
• Avoid physical contact unless necessary for safe instruction
• Never transport a minor in a personal vehicle
• Never meet a minor in a private or isolated location
• Communicate only through COACH’D-approved channels
• Report any safety concerns to COACH’D immediately

Prohibited Situations

The following are strictly forbidden:
• Leaving a minor alone with a coach
• Dropping off a minor without staying for the session
• Private or closed-door sessions
• Off-platform communication (personal phone, social media, etc.)
• Physical discipline, inappropriate touch, or suggestive behavior
• Coaches photographing or recording minors without explicit parental consent (including publishing/posting)
Any violation may result in immediate account removal.

Communication Rules

All communication involving minors must:
• Be professional
• Be visible to the parent/guardian
• Occur through COACH’D messaging only
• Never include personal, romantic, or inappropriate content
Parents/guardians may request access to communication logs at any time.

Background & Safety Screening

COACH’D may, at its discretion:
• Review public sex offender registries
• Conduct background checks
• Request identification or documentation
• Investigate reports or concerns
This supports the Policy Against Sex Offenders.

Reporting & Response

Parents, minors, and coaches must report concerns immediately, including:
• Suspicious behavior
• Boundary violations
• Inappropriate communication
• Safety hazards
• Any incident involving physical or emotional harm
COACH’D may suspend accounts during investigation and take any action deemed necessary.

Liability & Assumption of Risk

By allowing a minor to participate:
• The parent/guardian assumes all risks associated with athletic training
• COACH’D is not responsible for supervising minors
• COACH’D is not liable for injuries, accidents, or misconduct
• The parent/guardian agrees to the Liability Waiver
Coaches are independent contractors, not employees of COACH’D.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of this Policy may result in:
• Session cancellation

COACH’D reserves full discretion in enforcement.
